As the Security Team Lead at CloudTech24, I get involved in a wide range of projects. One day it’s working through a live incident, the next it’s engineering work like building out our SIEM, onboarding new services, or taking clients through Cyber Essentials. I also contribute to our security policies and spend time mentoring the junior analysts, an aspect of my role I really value. We have an experienced and dedicated team of security experts – I hold both the Blue Team Level 1 (BTL1) and Microsoft’s AZ-900 certification.

The work I enjoy most is anything with a proper problem to solve. New engineering tasks, things that haven’t been built yet, the kind of stuff where you have to think it through rather than follow a runbook. That’s what keeps the job interesting for me.

Away from the desk I’m usually out in the garage with grease up to my elbows, slowly coaxing a rusty old Mazda MX-5 back to life. It’s slow going, but there’s something quite satisfying about fixing a problem you can actually see in front of you.
